Destiny Foods puts the icing on over 16 million cakes after record year

Leading North West-based dessert and speciality food manufacturer, Destiny Foods, is celebrating a strong year of growth and investment across both its Manchester sites.

The business is set to achieve a turnover of £12million in 2014, an increase of 15% on 2013. Over 16 million cakes and speciality patisserie have gone through its production facility this year, bound for customers across the hotel, sport and leisure sectors. Destiny Foods has seen further penetration into other markets for its products, the latest of which is providing desserts to the airline industry.

Following a number of new clients wins, Destiny Foods has invested over £2million in state-of-the-art equipment and a site extension that will further increase the business’ capacity. This includes a brand new, high care production facility, ultrasonic portioning machines, and new rack ovens which improves the overall baking capacity. This investment will increase capacity and efficiency ahead of a 20% forecasted growth in 2015.

On top of this, the business has made a number of notable new appointments, including a new Director of Manufacturing, a Technical Manager with 26 years of experience and a new pastry chef to complement the New Product Development team. The new team members will oversee the development of even more innovative fresh and frozen products for Destiny customers.
